Road Trip: Sandwich, Kent (by Anna)

I’m not going to lie, we live in Kent and have ties to Sandwich so this ‘Roadtrip’ was only 30 minutes away. It’s a big tourist attraction and they have the most amazing little streets in Sandwich. However, I found there to be a shortage of Sandwich shops hahhahha think they missed a trick there haven’t they.

Such quaint little streets and the funniest street names. I mean No Name Street! It doesn’t end here either

There is a street so short it was named Short Street! And as if that wasn’t enough, there is a Holy Ghost Alley too!

There are some lovely little houses around this area. Every street here is well loved and looked after.

There is a wonderful walk along the The Butts and The Rope Walk which I highly recommend. So peaceful and relaxing on a summers day.

Can’t visit somewhere and not go on a little door hunt. You know me by now surely. Doors are my thing! Here are a selection of some of the best ones in Sandwich.

These two are almost right next door to each other. Bet they get really kitted out during Halloween!

It was a lovely morning just walking round Sandwich and I often find you don’t tend to appreciate what is on your doorstep.

We of course had an ice-cream in the sun…well the sun had an ice-cream really. It melted so quickly I barely got a lick in hahahah

How do you like to spend a sunny summery Sunday morning? Please do comment, as usual I would love to hear from you all!

Until Next Time,

  1. I lived in both Folkestone and Tunbridge Wells and my best friend lives in Margate so I know Kent well! Sandwich is gorgeous but so is St Margaret at Cliffe just up the road – you definitely need to check that out too 😊

  2. How have I never heard of this place before?!? Severely disappointed in the lack of sandwich shops. It looks like such a cute place and only a 90 minute drive from where I live! xx

    1. It’s a great place for a visit! The Earl of Sandwich apparently invented the bread enclosed convenience food we know as the Sandwich so that he didn’t have to leave his beloved gambling table to take supper sometime during his lifetime back 1718-1792 xx
