I love my new (ish) bed and even though I’m a morning person….and a night person actually come to think of it… I really enjoy just laying in bed in the morning when I really should be getting up to go about my day. My alarm is set for early am each weekday but I don’t get up until about 30 min after it goes off. I then proceed to run around the house whilst getting ready muttering under my breath that I’m going to be late. It’s the same every day hahaha I must look like a right idiot rushing about like its all a surprise each morning hahahah
One thing I have gotten down to a fine art is my make up routine. I leave this step as the last in my getting ready routine. Once that’s done I’m literally out the door and in my car and off the drive way in a matter of minutes.
I start by using my under eye cream and face cream. I let that soak in whilst I get dressed.
I then put a little corrector and concealer under my eyes and use my stick foundation by drawing little lines on my face. I blend it out with my foundation brush.
After this I dust a bit of powder under my eyes and across my t-zone
Then the eyebrows. Some mornings that’s a super quick step, others it’s what takes the longest and turns my 5 min morning make-up routine into 10 min. I know they aren’t supposed to be twins, only sisters but some mornings they aren’t even related for goodness sake!
I use an eyebrow pen which is waterproof thanks to my super oily skin. I don’t feel safe with just a powder and am too unskilled for anything like a dip brow product. Oh and I should mention I was 15 in 1995, the very height of thin eyebrow fashion. Plucked them nice and thin but no one tells you if you keep doing this THEY NEVER GROW BACK. Yes dammit, I used caps lock because they never grew back for me.
I sometimes use a bit of gel liner close to my lash line which I smudge out so it doesn’t look too harsh.
After this I sweep on some bronzer and blusher.
I then curl my lashes. Then the lashes do not want to hold the curl and I end up having to heat up the eyelash curler a little with my hair dryer and repeat the eyelash curling. Then put the mascara on.
Last couple of steps are lip balm or lipstick and then a liberal spritzing of some setting spray and I’m done and good to go. I’ve only recently started using this Mac Matte Setting Spray and let me tell you; It’s an absolute dream product!
What’s your morning makeup routine? As usual I’d love to hear from you all!
Until next time,
