My 5 min Morning Make-Up Routine (by Anna)

I love my new (ish) bed and even though I’m a morning person….and a night person actually come to think of it… I really enjoy just laying in bed in the morning when I really should be getting up to go about my day. My alarm is set for early am each weekday but I don’t get up until about 30 min after it goes off. I then proceed to run around the house whilst getting ready muttering under my breath that I’m going to be late. It’s the same every day hahaha I must look like a right idiot rushing about like its all a surprise each morning hahahah

One thing I have gotten down to a fine art is my make up routine. I leave this step as the last in my getting ready routine. Once that’s done I’m literally out the door and in my car and off the drive way in a matter of minutes.

I start by using my under eye cream and face cream. I let that soak in whilst I get dressed.

Oh Hi Freddie hahahahah – why are cats so into the flatlay?

I then put a little corrector and concealer under my eyes and use my stick foundation by drawing little lines on my face. I blend it out with my foundation brush.

After this I dust a bit of powder under my eyes and across my t-zone

Then the eyebrows. Some mornings that’s a super quick step, others it’s what takes the longest and turns my 5 min morning make-up routine into 10 min. I know they aren’t supposed to be twins, only sisters but some mornings they aren’t even related for goodness sake!

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Brow Pencil

I use an eyebrow pen which is waterproof thanks to my super oily skin. I don’t feel safe with just a powder and am too unskilled for anything like a dip brow product. Oh and I should mention I was 15 in 1995, the very height of thin eyebrow fashion. Plucked them nice and thin but no one tells you if you keep doing this THEY NEVER GROW BACK. Yes dammit, I used caps lock because they never grew back for me.

I sometimes use a bit of gel liner close to my lash line which I smudge out so it doesn’t look too harsh.

After this I sweep on some bronzer and blusher.

My Oldest Make-up Brush is my blusher brush from FACE Stockholm – its about 20 (!) years old now

I then curl my lashes. Then the lashes do not want to hold the curl and I end up having to heat up the eyelash curler a little with my hair dryer and repeat the eyelash curling. Then put the mascara on.

Last couple of steps are lip balm or lipstick and then a liberal spritzing of some setting spray and I’m done and good to go. I’ve only recently started using this Mac Matte Setting Spray and let me tell you; It’s an absolute dream product!

What’s your morning makeup routine? As usual I’d love to hear from you all!

Until next time,

  1. Hahah Freddie’s ears in the photo are so cute! My cats are the same way when I take flatlay photos. 😂 I’ve never heard of heating up the eyelash curler?! That’s super interesting. I love makeup routine posts so much. Thanks for sharing! 💟

    1. I’m so happy you enjoyed this blog post. Yeah why do cats love it so much? It’s almost as if they know they shouldn’t be there so they want to be there hahahaha
Heating up the eyelash curler is a great life hack, sometimes I do it after I have put mascara on, for the extra open eye look. But be careful as to not burn yourself 💖

    1. I was the same as you but now I love it! It’s so simple and quick (I love quick). It’s creamy which is why it’s a quick application and I find it doesn’t dry as fast as liquids do so I get a much more even finish as it will allow me to buff it in better…if that makes any sense xx

  2. LOL, the kitty head is so cute! ❣️ I start with an eye corrector, concealer, foundation, face powder, liquid eyeliner, eyebrows, and highlighter. I finish the look with lip pencil and nude lipstick. xx

    1. He is isn’t he 😻 liquid eyeliner is my nemesis, I just can’t seem to apply it. I’ve got slightly hooded eyes which doesn’t help either lol thanks for sharing your routine, I find it so interesting to read how other people do the same thing 😀 xx

  3. I understand the eyebrow problem all too well… All summer I’ve been looking for a magical option so that I can show up at school with eyebrows that are maybe fraternal twins… Thanks for sharing!

  4. I just love seeing cats appearing randomly in pictures, makes my day. Ahah. My cat always do the same.
When it’s college time I actually wake up immediately, I like to have a peaceful morning without rushing so I rather wake up early. I enjoyed your post and the products you use.
