I’d read that Yves Saint Laurent had recently launched a stick foundation. You guys know I love my Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation, read my previous post about that here and here. I find stick foundations to be super simple, quick to apply and doesn’t leave me looking like I’m wearing too much make-up. I just had to get this little beauty! It was £31.50.
According to their website, and I quote;
Get your fix of matte with the new All Hours Foundation Stick. YSL’s very first foundation stick that provides irresistibly buildable, medium to full coverage for up to 24 hours.
Our non-cakey formula feels weightless and comfortable on the skin, offering a gorgeous velvet matte finish – perfect for all-day shine control. Tested under dermatological control and doesn’t block pores – this compact, waterproof stick is your take-anywhere complexion accessory.
Do you blame this oily skinned woman for buying it after seeing this!? They recommend on the website to use this with the Liquid foundation for a flawless finish. I’m not looking for a flawless face for a night out with YSL. I’ve got MAC for that hahahahah I’m looking for a natural day school/work foundation stick.
This goes on so so so so smooth and creamy and is meant to dry to a powder form and be waterproof with velvet matte finish. I agree with this so far. It has a faint smell of roses or something similar. Quite nice and not overpowering. I’ve only just put it on whilst typing this so I can’t yet comment on the staying power or the shine control this claims to have. If you want an update let me know in the comments.
As most women on this planet I wish I had thicker fuller longer hair. Without having to buy super expensive extensions that take lots of upkeep. I’m lazy, I don’t mind admitting that.
My lazy shortcut to thicker hair is this Aveda Thickening Tonic. I was recommended this product by a lovely lady at my local Aveda counter last year. I’ve used it up once and this is my repurchase! It really seems to work for me. It makes my hair feel thicker and it adds a bit of texture to my hair too. I love it!
You just need to make sure you spray it on damp hair then blow dry it as the heat activates it apparently she told me. This was £21.
Last but absolutely not least I bought another MAC fixing spray. I’ve originally got the Fix+ Matte which I love and do think it does a good job. But sometimes we just want to buy more things even though we already have things that do a good job….basically everything in this post hahahahaha.
I got the Coconut scented one. The colour of it is rather depressingly not pink hahaha it’s a bit ugly right. But it smells like holiday! So I got this one instead of the Rose one based on that smell alone hahahah and it cost me £19.00 for 100ml.
A handy tip for you if you travel or simply want to bring along a smaller size in your handbag each day – Buy the mini! Yes, they have a mini version at 30ml of the original Fix+ spray which I bought at the airport and when that ran out, I just filled it up with my Fix+ Matte. Genius right! You’re welcome hahaaha
Have you used any of the products in this post? Or perhaps you also belong to the ‘I-buy-things-I-don’t-need-ooops-how-did-that-happen?’ club? I am a high ranking member lol. As usual I would love to hear from you so please do leave me a comment and let me know.
Until Next Time,
