I asked on twitter the other day for some tips on Brunch places. Twitter sure came through for me and we settled on this little gem called 34 Mayfair (the entrance in on South Audley Street)
My husband and I booked a table on the app OpenTable a couple of days in advance for 13.00 on the Saturday.
We are foodies my husband and I. Good food. I guess some people would call our taste in food pretentious. I don’t care. I like what I like. Price isn’t always an indication of good food by the way, just saying.
Some people choose to spend their money on alcohol down the pub every weekend. I choose to spend it on eating out, and eating well. That is what I enjoy and so does my husband. Luckily hahahahah
We often take trips to places that interests us. This one is in London and as we live in Kent we took the high speed train. It takes us to London in 37 minutes.
I was actually ready before my husband for a change. I know right! Wife 1 Husband 0 hahaha
It was quite easy to find. When we were seated it was relatively quiet but it soon filled up and got busy.
I actually found the prices to be very reasonable for Mayfair, London. We each had a coffee and a brunch special cocktail which was lovely. It was made from red berries and cream.
My husband chose the Baked Egg and Sicilian Sausage and I picked the Waffles with duck egg and chorizo.
Doesn’t it look lovely? I really enjoyed my choice of dish but I did have slight food envy looking over the table at my husbands choice.
We had a wonderful time here and the food was lovely. I would definitely come back in the future with the girls. The service was great and they were very attentive to our needs. Maybe I’ll try the a la carte menu next time.
The best thing about this place (apart from the great company of my husband and the food) was how everyone made us feel at ease and not in a rush. I find that to be the best ‘tell’ about a restaurant. There is nothing worse than eating somewhere and feeling rushed. Like they need the table back asap so they can get another sitting in. I don’t want to feel rushed when I’m eating and chatting away and enjoying my time. This place made you feel special, like you mattered. And for that I am putting this place among the top places I’ve eaten on my list.
We recently visited Chiltern Firehouse for my birthday brunch. I really did not like it there. The food was ok but it felt like we were not important to them as customers and we certainly felt very rushed in some aspects and completely forgotten about in others. I even got told off for taking pictures! I mean come on…. I was going to write about it on the blog but as I didn’t have many pictures I decided against it. Unless you want a little write up about it? Let me know in the comments. That experience really put in to perspective how much I enjoyed 34 Mayfair and how good they are at customer service and providing you with a great experience whilst eating there.
If you have any other places to recommend us please do! Can’t ever have too many recommendations! As always I would really love to hear from you all.
Until Next Time,
